BRC Acoustics and Technology
Consulting is a Seattle-based
acoustical and technology
consulting firm providing
diverse services to public
and private clients throughout
the United States. Services
include architectural and
mechanical acoustics, vibration
measurement and analysis,
multimedia system design,
noise monitoring, acoustical
modeling, and noise contour
mapping for environmental
noise projects.
The
firm was originally founded
by the late Robin M. "Buzz" Towne
in 1960 as Robin M. Towne & Associates.
Later, when Roy Richards and
Herb Chaudiere joined as principals,
the name was changed to Towne,
Richards, and Chaudiere, Inc.
, known by many in the architectural & engineering
community and those in the
acoustical design profession
as TRC. With Buzz Towne's retirement
in 1995, Dan Bruck became president
of the firm and the name
was changed to Bruck Richards
Chaudiere Inc., or BRC Acoustics.
Although Herb passed away in
2000 while still active in
the company, and Roy is now
fully retired, we are proud
to retain the reference to
their names on the company
that they worked so diligently
to bring to prominence.
BRC assigns
teams selected from our
staff to analyze individual projects
and to develop tailored
solutions using the latest technology
and information. Technical
expertise and proven qualifications
- and years of practical
experience - enable our team to
deliver cost-effective and innovative
designs for projects of
any scope.
We use state-of-the-art computer
modeling programs in conjunction
with noise and vibration measurement
equipment to optimize the architectural
and mechanical function of building
interiors, to perform noise impact
predictions, and in the design
of multimedia audio-visual systems.
BRC is an active member of the
National Council of Acoustical
Consultants, Acoustical Society
of America, and the Institute of
Noise Control Engineering, and
is an AIA Seattle Corporate Allied
Partner.
